You may have already heard about Luminess Air from a late night TV infomercial, or saw it featured on a talk show or The Doctors. I originally came across the wonderful product through a product review on one of my fellow bloggers website. I was sent the Luminess Air Professional system, along with the Utra-Fair Airbrush Cosmetics Starter Kit, as well as the Airbrush Eyeshadow Kit in Camelot.
When I first opened the box, I was quite impressed with the packaging. Luminess made a huge effort to make this usually industrial looking type of product into a really pretty, consumer friendly system. The kit comes in a pretty white box, with compartments for all the pieces. There was even a silver purse which stores the system perfectly, also known as the Hello Bag. In the box I also received a DVD as well as a manual. These items make it really easy to get started. There's even a section in the manual for trouble shooting, for if and when your airbrush doesn't work.
First of all I have to say, the compressor is quite cute! It's white with an embossed butterfly on it. It has a simple on/off button which lights up when turned on and emits a surprisingly strong airflow. To use the system, all you need to do is plug one end of the power cord into the compressor and the other into an outlet. The stylus or airbrush gun is already attached to a hose and to the system. The system that was sent to me is a single action stylus which continually blows out air. As you pull back on the lever, it will release makeup. It also includes an empty bottle where you can add 1/3 water and 2/3 regular drugstore rubbing alcohol. This will be your airbrush cleaner. After pushing the on/off button, you'll immediately notice the strong airflow coming from the gun. This system has three settings which gives out three different airflow. Just push the button a few times until you receive the airflow that you desire.
After looking through the catalog, I was actually pretty impressed by all the product offerings. Here are some other items available:
-Other components including a battery pack for travel
-Easy to use
-Super quick application of foundation
-Nice storage system... cute design
-Foundation looks natural on skin
-Undertone system easy to understand
-Many products available: Matte, to Satin Foundations, to Body Bronzers
-Instruction Packet and DVD are clear and easy to follow
-Affordable for an airbrush system
-Easy to clean...only need a mixture of water and drug store alcohol.
-The rubber hose attached to the airbrush can get damaged and poked if you're not careful
-Might seem a bit costly at first if you're not used to the idea of purchasing an airbrush system
-No cap comes with the airbrush, as you have to be careful to hold the cup upright or you'll spill makeup on yourself.
I am so happy with my Luminess Air Professional system. Even though it took a couple tries to get it applied perfectly, it was well worth it. Now it's super fast getting ready in the morning and it appears that I have flawless skin. It doesn't matter what weather is outside, or how many hours you have to look good for, the make-up stays in place and doesn't run or sweat off.
I slept over at my mom's place and forgot to bring make-up for the next day. The Luminess make-up that I had applied at home looked flawless the next day! The only thing I wished I had with me was my eyeliner, as that was the only thing that wore off. Of course my eyeliner wasn't from Luminess, or it would probably have looked flawless the next day as well!
I was also sent three lip gloss Pout Poppers, which are lip plumping glosses. I have small thin lips, and their lip gloss actually makes them look bigger without any added surgeries or injections. I was sent three colors, and each one as pretty as the other.
Thanks to Luminess Air, one lucky person will get a chance to win a lip gloss trio kit. It's their most popular lip glosses that are actually "Lip Pout Poppers", which means they make your lips look bigger! Offer only available to the US and must be 18+ to enter.
